Many people are unsure of how to handle situations involving abandoned or injured dogs. To address this, groups like the CV Raman Nagar Canine Squad, led by Mallika Ghosh, share important emergency contact numbers regularly. By raising awareness about proper animal care, these groups aim to equip the community with the necessary tools to assist animals in need.

The canine squads in Bengaluru focus on establishing local communities dedicated to animal welfare. They prioritize critical issues such as neutering and anti-rabies vaccinations, encourage community involvement, and foster a sense of trust within the community. Additionally, these groups collaborate with various organizations and authorities to share knowledge and best practices related to animal welfare, including neutering, abuse prevention, rescue operations, and cruelty prevention.

As a response to the surge in abandoned dogs during the pandemic and the inactive Animal Birth Control (ABC) program, Parvathi Prabhakar from the Sadashivanagar Canine Squad took the initiative to neuter approximately 400 dogs. The ultimate goal is to neuter every dog in Bengaluru to address the issue effectively and ensure the well-being of the city's canine population.She expressed that neutering is the sole solution to this problem.
